
Bio:
Michael Leo Quinn was born June 5, 1946 in Kingsport, TN. He studied painting and drawing at East Tennessee State University toward a BFA in 1968 followed by a year of graduate work at the University of North Carolina - Greensboro where he held a graduate assistantship. In 1969 he tought in the state of Maryland. Since 1972 he worked in cabinetry, sculpture fabrication and custom picture framing as well as curator at the Easton, MD Academy of Art . He is currently retired from AC Moore arts and crafts in Dover, Delaware and lives in Wyoming, DE with his wife, Nancy, who retired from teaching art in Maryland. His three children are from Philadelphia, New York and Columbia, TN. There are two grandchildren. He plays mandolin and guitar, bowls, and sings in church choir.

The paintings reflect the physical acts of visual movement that encourage the viewer to follow the components of paint and space in purely abstract settings.
